The other day I was talking with a prominent local business owner who coaches entrepreneurs. She said that one of the most disturbing things she sees with new owners is that they don't take the time to distinguish themselves as companies. They end up appearing to be hobbyists and worse - they forfeit all of the protections offered by separating their business from personal wealth. Lesson to be learned: make sure that your company documents have been professionally prepared and maintained so that you can reap the benefits of your hard earned dollars without risking your own security.
